Math Support Services is open during the summer!

Summer is the best time to build confidence and strengthen basic math skills. Providing a head start for the upcoming school year will benefit every student whether preparing for an Honors course or just stopping the summer brain drain. We offer several programs for math tutoring, transferable math classes, transferable science classes, and SAT preparation classes. Math Support Services is also an alternative for summer school math and science classes for students in the William S. Hart School District and other districts in the Santa Clarita Valley. Scholarships are available. Applications and additional forms are available by emailing info@mathsupportservices.com.

Summer school tutoring hours for 2012 will be posted towards the end of the spring semester.

Summer Courses For Credit (one semester class) - Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Algebra 2 with Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus & Statistics

All of our regular courses are offered during the summer in addition to some specialty programs. Two sessions are offered for group classes.

Group Courses: Group math classes run for five weeks plus a final exam. Students meet with their teacher in class for two hours two days per week. An optional two hour study hall is included each week for students who need supervised time to complete homework and retake tests. Students must schedule study hall each and every week or lose the opportunity for that week. No vacations are permitted.

Private Courses: For an additional fee, private math classes run for five weeks plus a final exam and allow the flexibility to accomodate vacation(s) and sports schedules. Each week, students will meet with their instructor twice for a one hour one-on-one tutoring session and a two hour study hall to take tests and turn in homework.

Geometry 1A/1B (two semester class)

Two sessions are available for our One-Year Geometry course.

This course runs for 6 weeks and covers two semesters of Geometry at an accelerated rate. Students must take a placement test prior to enrollment to qualify (at no charge). Each week, students will spend two days in a two hour class session with their teacher, a one hour one-on-one tutoring session, and a two hour study hall. Due to the fast pace of this class no vacations are permitted.

Chemistry & Physics (one semester class)

Science group classes run for five weeks plus a final exam. Students meet with their teacher in class for two hours two days per week. All materials are included and labs will be completed during class times. An optional two hour study hall is included each week for students who need supervised time to complete homework and retake tests. Students must schedule study hall each and every week or lose the opportunity for that week. No vacations are permitted.

Mathletics (5th/6th) & Mathmaniacs (7th/8th)

A Real Skill Builder! Math Can Be Fun! Summer is the perfect time to build and strengthen mathematics skills for the upcoming school year. Your student will work in a small group setting with an experienced tutor to review and learn fundamental concepts and create fun ways to remember them. Each session is tailored to the individual student to meet their needs, interests, and level of background knowledge and learning style. Homework will be given to reinforce the material learned during these interactive sessions.

SAT, PSAT & ACT Preparation Workshops

We cover both the math and English components on these important tests. Our staff includes a credentialed English teacher with more than 20 years teaching experience including extensive test preparation experience. In these comprehensive classes students will learn strategies, timing techniques and specific content (critical reading, writing and math). They will take and review several actual exams (released College Board exams). In this fun and interactive workshop students are motivated to prepare for this all important test. We guarantee that students will gain a minimum of 150 points! Please ask for details. We even include study skills, focus techniques and a test taking workshop to reduce anxiety.
