SAT, PSAT & ACT PREPARATION

Spring 2012 SAT Workshops | SAT Flyer | AVID Scholarship

Our SAT preparation courses are held right here in Santa Clarita! These SAT preparation classes include two full practice exams. The SAT or ACT score is one of the primary factors used by colleges and universities in granting admission, while the PSAT score can qualify your child for certain scholarships. Our strategic approach to preparation will strengthen your child's skills and maximize his or her score. A small investment in preparation now can improve your child's opportunities for selection at the college or university of their choice.

SAT I

Learn easy techniques for improving math and verbal scores. Six class sessions are included in our basic class, as well as two full graded practice tests. Our classroom environment encourages student-teacher interaction and the exchange of ideas. SAT preparation classes are available on Sundays as well.

SAT II (Math)

Students seeking admissions to a UC are no longer required to take the subject level IIC version of the mathematics exam, but it is still highly recommended. This high level test focuses on advanced mathematics through Pre-Calculus. We do not currently offer a group preparation class for the SAT II, but private tutoring is available to give students a more comprehensive review of the mathematics needed for this test.

ACT

In this two hour workshop (available as part of the SAT/ACT hybrid class or individually), students planning to take the ACT will learn the strategies included in our original SAT workshop combined with individualized instruction in the area of science.

Parent Night - Roadmap to College

We will share valuable information to help you organize your journey to college. This two hour workshop is included with your registration for test prep workshops. Topics covered will include: financial aid, organizational timelines, junior college vs. four-year schools, how much math your child needs, who takes the SAT II, how to frame your personal statement, volunteer work, and MUCH MUCH MORE! Check the calendar for upcoming workshops. We highly recommend that you attend this workshop as early as 9TH GRADE.

Continuing Instruction

Private tutoring is available to supplement our regular test preparation programs. Students who need specific remediation in a given area may add additional sessions addressing deficiencies.

PSAT

Why is this test important? Students have only one chance - October of their Junior year - to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship by scoring well on the PSAT. This is a financial reward of $2500. This is a very prestigious award. Students who qualify for this are highly sought after by major universities across the nation and will most likely receive additional scholarships and awards from private corporations and private donors. The top 50,000 students taking the PSAT are eligible. Approximately 7,900 students receive the National Merit Scholarship.
